Steve Harrison became a copywriter at the relatively late age of 30. His rise, thereafter, was swift. From 1996 to 2007 he was European Creative Director at OgilvyOne Worldwide and Global Creative Director at Wunderman. In between, he found time to start his own agency, HPT Brand Response. This morphed into HTW and quickly set the global benchmark for creativity. Indeed, Steve still holds the record for winning more Cannes Lions Direct than any other creative director in the world.
Steve sold his company in 2006 and left agency life in 2007. Upon his departure he was described in Campaign magazine as "the greatest direct marketing creative of this generation and an icon of the business."
Comments
I thought the brief was too vague or, more precisely, the proposition was too vague. There was also little in the way of factual support for the proposition. The one very good campaign (which featured various famous people using HP equipment to create in unfamiliar genres) was an excellent multimedia effort which dramatised and demonstrated the proposition in an entertaining and informative fashion.
