The Juries

Bo Hellberg -
Tribal DDB

Growing up in rural Sweden was a hearty, toughening experience. Along with many vigorous physical activities (shooting fluffy animals and arm wrestling flaxen-haired Helgas), Bo discovered a love of literature and a flair for wordsmithery.

Plagued by childhood memories of boozy, decadent advertising men in snappy suits and cool shoes, Bo decided to build his career in advertising. Over the years he worked at above-the-line agencies like Lowe and BBDO, until he realised that his glacial Scandinavian demeanour could be put to better use abroad. He hotfooted it to Australia, then in the interest of racking up some air miles, the UK. Enchanted by the warmth and politeness of London’s commuters, he decided to stay.

Bo adapted to the intricacies of technology and found himself riding on the .com bandwagon, giving agencies such as Modem Media, Answerthink and Lost Boys the benefit of his infinite wisdom. After the .com crash, Bo joined OgilvyInteractive as Creative Director and was soon made Partner and board member of Ogilvy Group. In 2009 he set sail again and arrived in Paris to join Tribal DDB as Executive Creative Director.

Comments

The overall standard of work was varied. Some entries were off brief, off brand, confusing. However the top few were clever, had a good strategy and felt modern. The winning work stood out because it polarises, engages into action and is bold!
